University of Washington Athletics. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics offers an extensive program with competition in 23 sports. Women’s sports are basketball, crew, cross country, golf, gymnastics, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, indoor and outdoor track and field, and volleyball.
